Dubai World Cup is the one of the world’s biggest social and sporting events. Taking place on the last Saturday of March at the iconic Meydan Racecourse, it is the richest day of racing in the world with a combined prize purse of $30 million USD.
The racing season begins in November and is highlighted by the Dubai World Cup Carnival, a season of high-class international race days worth around $40m in prize money, which gathers the most high-profile owners, trainers, horses and jockeys in the world.
This year Dubai World Cup is celebrating its 20th anniversary so we believe that this year event will certainly be even more spectacular than the previous ones.
History
1981 – The beginning of the horseracing began in the Emirate with three races organized by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE
1992 – The Dubai Racing Club was established under the chairmanship of Colonel Ali Khamis Al Jafleh, a UAE Air Force commander
1996 – The first Dubai World Cup
2010 – The DWC introduced the Meydan Grandstand and Racecourse to the racing and sports world. Located at the heart of Dubai, the Meydan Racecourse is a real architectural masterpiece and the world’s largest integrated racing facility.
2016 – The 20th anniversary of the Dubai World Cup

As the big event starts in 2 days, the tickets for First Class Lounge, The Terrace and the Premium are sold out but there are still available tickets for the Gallery. If you don’t have your tickets yet, you’d better hurry because neither purchase nor collection of tickets will be possible on March 26th.

So if you are planning to attend this world class event, be elegant and stylish, but comfortable at the same time. After all, this is a sporting event.
Important precision, jeans and shorts are prohibited at Meydan Grandstand.
